I quit social media since 90 days: Here’s how I feel today

Earlier, social media was a culture. Today, quit social media is the new norm. It’s low vibration and controlled as to how content curated and published through an algorithm is loaded with an x-factor (notification). In 2020, most of my pandemic was glued to me on my phone browsing mindlessly on social media. Where did it lead me to?

Low vibes! My sleep routine took a huge setback! I realized my creativity mood shifting to late night than the usual early morning. However, all I was doing late night was mindlessly scrolling my social media feeds. My goals, dreams and everything high vibration was at an all-time low!

That is when I decided enough is enough

I had to stop myself drowning in this spiral. I decided and made a commitment in November 2020 to keep a check on my social media. Since then, a lot has changed.

I quit social media and here are five life-changing realizations I’ve had in the last 90 days:

  1. My sleep is much better and on time
  2. My life is on track and so are my goals
  3. I am connecting deeper with people in the real world
  4. I choose to consume valuable content
  5. I feel more happy in life

Accept there is life when you do quit social media:

Nope, this is not a cliché. When I decided to put a bound to my mindless social media, it was difficult. I realized that I was addicted (something I never wanted to accept). I accepted and allowed myself to move on. It’s important.

Follow Pareto’s Principle:

Yes, your phone has a lot of free space. Although, free space leads to higher vibesFollow Pareto’s principle and uninstall 80% of your applications. Yes, you haven’t used them without the notifications anyways. And, give EXTREME IMPORTANCE to social media apps.


For the applications that are absolutely necessary, change your notification settings. When there are no beeps and phone vibrations, there are higher vibrations. Allow a time that you choose to open your apps. Read more books and talk to people to grow.

In conclusion, the above process has really helped me quit social media for myself. It has had a positive impact on my life.
